ForLife Yoga® (FLY)

For the first time in on our society there are more people over the age of 65 than children under the age of 5 ~ however, the needs of those of us aging are not being well-served by many of the physical exercise programmes on offer. While Yoga has become a popular movement system which promotes physical and mental health and wellbeing, not all Yoga practices are suitable for the 65+ age group, nor for the less able. 

For Life Yoga is specifically designed for this group who are still committed to moving and staying strong through their Yoga.  Added to this, I include the Otago Exercise Programme (OEP) ~ specifically designed to improve balance and prevent falls, a major cause of injury as we age.  Yoga breathwork, relaxation and meditation remain part of the Yoga work we will be doing in each class. Being aware of the busy lives everyone leads, simple easy techniques are introduced that can be taken away from each class into the daily lives of participants. 

Yoga is recommended for people with Multiple Sclerosis and is included in the NICE guidelines. Living with MS is a unique to each individual. This class is designed for people with MS. Everyone is invited to do as much as they can, with the option to use a chair.
